Students from the Faculty of Security

Students from the Faculty of Security - Skopje (on 14.03.2023) and the Faculty of Detectives and Security at AUE-FON (on 16.03.2023), visited the Intelligence Agency (AR) within the project “A Day in AR”.

The students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Law on AR adopted in 2021, which established a new model of operation of the Agency, which defines AR as an external intelligence service that collects, processes, analyses, exchanges, keeps and protects data and knowledge for threats from abroad.

In that regard, the guests were acquainted with the organizational structure, goals, activities, competences, as well as principles of working that AR follows, respecting the rights and freedoms determined by the Constitution and the laws.

Within the visits, the students attended lectures by the management of the Agency, related to the place and role of AR in the Macedonian security-intelligence system, for an inter-institutional and international cooperation, NATO and other international security platforms, as well as the intelligence – operational aspects of the scope of work of the Agency.

The lectures are based on the full involvement of the students, through asking questions and leading discussions on topics, i.e. a complete interactive approach.

During the stay, the students had the opportunity to visit the museum in AR, whereby they expressed an interest for various exhibits and their application as methods for working in the operational-technical activities, as well as the history of the institution.

These visits to the Intelligence Agency are part of the “A Day in AR” activity encompassing the Agency’s continuous efforts for greater transparency, openness and direct contact through visits of students in the field of security studies.
