The Intelligence Agency denies the falsehoods expressed by the Vice President of VMRO-DPMNE Aleksandar Nikoloski on the tribune before the Convention of VMRO-DPMNE

The Intelligence agency most vehemently denies the allegations made by the Vice President of VMRO-DPMNE, Aleksandar Nikoloski, at the party tribune held on 02.03.2024, before the Convention for the selection of a presidential candidate. The period when candidates for president of the state are nominated is misused for placing threatening rhetoric towards an institution that is under the authority of the president, as well as towards its employees.

In his appearance, Nikoloski used numerous lies and baseless claims against the Agency, in order to damage its integrity and reputation. In addition, he did this on behalf of the nominated candidate, directing the moves he will have to take after 12 May 2024.

This is not the first time that the public has been manipulated in this way, and after the failed attempts to publicly lynch the Agency, the same claims are once again presented and republished as scandals on fake profiles and media.

At the tribune, the employees of the Agency were qualified as “a horde”, thus belittling them as professionals and the Agency as an important factor in the national security.

The Agency was accused of spreading gossip and fabricating reports, which is an absolute lie, considering that it operates according to an established methodology of working with classified information. Without arguments, the Agency is accused of monitoring the highest leadership of VMRO-DPMNE. Up until now, no evidence of such baseless claims has been presented to the public or to appropriate institutions, including the Public Prosecutor's Office and the competent parliamentary committee.

Additionally, we would like to assure the public that President Stevo Pendarovski does not interfere in the work of the Agency, nor has he ever given an order to monitor political dissidents.

It is known that the monitoring of political dissidents and communications, which was carried out until ten years ago, led to political-security instability in our country, which resulted in the reform of the security-intelligence sector.

We appeal not to misuse the name of the Intelligence Agency to collect party points in the pre-election period, not to mislead the citizens by posting falsehoods and not to undermine the trust in the security and intelligence institutions.
